Coaching
Background: I turned professional in 1988 and
I am currently completing my level 3 NCCP certification
in singles (including five level 4 tasks). In addition,
I am a GOLD STATUS professional coach in the Continuous
Education Program (CEP). Skate Canada coaches are required
to earn a minimum of 50 points to maintain Gold Status.
This season I achieved over 170 points.
I coach all levels of skaters from Can Skate to Senior
including competitive skaters in the Kingston area skating
clubs. I instruct skaters that have attained medals
at Star Skate Nationals, EOS Sectionals and many invitational
events. I have athletes that have completed gold tests
in all disciplines; passed competitive tests (up to
Junior); won medals at EOSIC; received Skate Canada
bursaries; attended the EOS Youth Camp; participated
in the Provincial Training Camp; been invited to Jump
Start; competed at the Ontario Winter Games, All-Ontario's
and at a provincial summer championship event, and represented
EOS on the Travel Team.
Seminar
Participation: I am constantly upgrading my
technical skating expertise. In addition to participating
in various skating workshops, I strongly encourage skaters
to attend seminars with me throughout the skating season.
Skaters always return to the rink with a renewed passion
for the sport, new training tips and fun exercises.
Please
see my resume for a complete list of seminars that I
have attended.
