Skater
Of The Month
Each
month one skater will be selected based on their passion,
spirit, effort and dedication to figure skating. This
skater will receive a free 30 minute
lesson with me to recognize his/her outstanding accomplishments
and commitment to skating.
2009
September
Elisabeth M. is the September skater
of the month. Elisabeth is from the FHHSC and loves
to skate. She juggles many extra curricular activities
(including hockey) but always finds time to participate
in the on and off-ice activities that I arrange for
my skaters. Elisabeth had an outstanding season passing
skills, dance and free skate tests and winning numerous
medals at interclub. She is so quiet, polite and courteous
on the ice I sometimes forget that she is there. Congratulations
on an outstanding season on and off the ice!
August
The August skater of the month is Anna K. from the FHHSC.
As the only competitive skater in the area, Anna is
a leader and role model for all of our young skaters.
At 15, in addition to being a top student at KCVI and
a competitive volleyball player, Anna is a sportball
instructor. Not many people know this but Anna will
soon enter the Guiness Book of World Records in the
most PUSH-UPS ever category!!!!
July
The July skater of the month is Alyssa F. Alyssa is
a member of the FHHSC and a new student of mine. Alyssa
fits in well with my skaters and has committed herself
to training on and off the ice this summer. Great job
Alyssa. Those spirals are wonderful now!
June
Emma F. from the FHHSC is the June skater of the month.

in June, July and August this year. Emma hopes to skate
on television someday and with her outstanding work
ethic I am sure this will happen soon.
May
Hannah B. is the May skater of the month. Hannah is
from the FHHSC and loves to skate. She juggles many
extra curricular activities but always works exceptionally
hard on and off the ice. Hannah had an outstanding season
and completed her Gold Skills this spring and her second
of four Gold dances. In addition to this, my other skaters
always tell me how hard Hannah works at our off-ice
classes. This makes me very proud. Way to go Hannah!
April
The April skater of the month is Emma H. Emma committed
to spring skating after a very long season at LWC. Emma
learned the Junior Bronze skills and passed the Fiesta
tango at the spring test day. Emma is so polite and
courteous on the ice I sometimes forget she is out there!
March
Christina P. is the March skater of the month. In addition
to skating, Christina is a fabulous runner and is also
committed to many school sports. This season Christina
mastered the axel and is able to rotate most of her
double jumps. She placed first at the Spring Fling competition
held at LWC and received numerous medals at the interclub
championships held at F.H.H.S.C. in February. Christina
is easy-going and has a smile that is infectious on
the ice. My favourite skating moment was Christina's
first-ever 'improv' competition routine in Gananoque
which resulted in a gold medal.
February
The February skater of the month is Nicole C. Nicole
is a new student of mine and a new member of the F.H.H.S.C.
Nicole trained very hard this season and, in addition
to passing many tests, made it to the semi-finals at
her very first EOSIC competition held in Whitby. In
addition to all of her extracurricular activities, I
am very proud of Nicole's commitment to skating. I know
there will be many more skating medals in your future.
Congratulations on a very successful season!
January
Trisha R. from the F.H.H.S.C. simply loves to skate

always on time and eager to learn new elements on the
ice. Trisha was instrumental in preparing our Canskaters
for the interclub competition and will make an exceptional
coach someday. In addition to skating, Trisha is a dedicated
Tim Horton's employee and valued F.H.H.S.C. P.A. Congratulations.
